Objective To study the efficacy of polylactic acid /mineralized collagen based artificial bone repair material (NBG) in rabbit cancellous bone defect of femoral condyle, as well as the effect of material mixing with the body bone and bone marrow, and to examine the safety and effectiveness of the material. Methods In the rabbit bilateral femoral condyle caused cancellous bone defect, 60 male rabbits were implanted with bone material. The experiment was divided into 5 groups: Blank group, NBG group, NBG+ABM group, NBG+AGB group, AGB group. The X-Ray and CT, histological evaluation, biomechanical analysis and other methods were used to compare the bone repair performance of 5 groups of materials. Results Through the experimental observation of the combination of newborn bone and surrounding bone, taking X photos and analyzing the grayscale value and performing CT 3D reconstruction analysis, tissue slicing observation at different points in time showed that the bone repair ability of NBG, NBG+ABM, NBG+AGB, AGB group was good, and the biomechanics test also showed that each experimental group could carry a higher pressure load relative to the Blank group. The repair effect of AGB, NBG+AGB, NBG+ABM and NBG group was reduced sequentially, but these groups were close to complete repair. Conclusion The results showed that polylactic acid/mineralized collagen based artificial bone had good biocompatibility and osteoinductivity, and was a good bone implant material. It can be used alone to obtain good bone repair effect, or mixed with autologous bone or bone marrow, and the repair effect is more obvious. |
