Abstract: Objective To investigate the early clinical effect of lateral decubitus with direct anterior approach in hip arthroplasty. Method Continuously recruitment of Twenty-eight patients (38 hips) received Hip arthroplasty through lateral decubitus with direct anterior approach admitted to Huatuo Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2020 to January 2021. The length of the surgical incision, intraoperative amount of bleeding, surgical duration, postoperative partial weight landing time, hospitalization time, postoperative follow-up the hip joint HHS score, pain visual simulation (VAS) score and hip activity were recorded. Results All patients were successfully received the operation and achieved an average(8.0±2.0) months postoperative follow-up. Moreover, the average incision length was (8.5 ± 2.2) cm, average unilateral hip bleeding was (100.1 ± 57.2) ml, unilateral hip surgery length was (60.2 ± 13.3) min, mean postoperative first landing time was (12.3 ± 8.6) h, and the hospitalization time was (12.6 ± 2.4) d. In this group, postoperative the hip joint HHS score, VAS score and hip activity were significantly improved compared with preoperative patients. Conclusion Hip arthroplasty via lateral decubitus with direct anterior approach has the advantages of less trauma through muscle space approach and good functional recovery of the postoperative hip joint in the early stage. Moreover, the operation is safe and effective, which is conducive to rapid functional recovery of the operative hip joint. |
